I went through the customs export records of the three countries, shipment by shipment, to see who bought, from whom and at what price. I counted fresh strawberries under subheading 081010 and the shipments that name their buyer, from January to the latest month each country has published: August for Mexico and Colombia, October for Peru. The price per kilo is the value divided by the net kilos. US$ 23.78 million, 18.3% of the value, moved between companies of one group; those shipments count in the totals and I left them out of every price below.
Mexico sold US$ 129.67 million of the total, 99.7%, to 74 buyers through 85 exporters, at US$ 1.71 per kilo. Colombia sold US$ 433,858 to 13 buyers at US$ 2.98 per kilo. Peru sold US$ 5,443 to one buyer at US$ 3.00.
