I went through the customs export records of both countries, shipment by shipment, to see who bought, from whom and at what price. I counted pecans in shell and shelled, and the shipments that name their buyer, from January to the latest month each country has published: August for Mexico, October for Peru. The price per kilo is the value divided by the net kilos. US$ 8.01 million, 3.2% of the value, moved between companies of one group; those shipments count in the totals and I left them out of every price below.
Mexico sold US$ 248.75 million of the total, 99.8%, to 116 buyers through 49 exporters, at US$ 9.53 per kilo. Peru sold US$ 511,904 to six buyers through six exporters, at US$ 7.80 per kilo.
If you export pecans, this list shows where the buyers are, what each market paid per kilo and which buyers already work with more than one exporter.
